Management of foot rot (Phytophthora capsici) disease of black pepper (Piper nigrum L.) through fungicides and cultural practices in Southwestern Ethiopia
نویسندگان
چکیده
The pathogen Phytophthora capsici, which causes black pepper foot rot, is the most detrimental disease that affects productivity and lowers qualitative quantitative spike yields in southwest Ethiopia. effectiveness of several fungicides cultural methods against capsici was tested a field experiment. Five commercial practices were examined, natural infection noted. Disease incidence determined by visually observing leaf blight, infection, shedding, vine yellowing. effective fungicide, with 14.3%, Koka blue 50 WG (Copper oxychloride) spraying when combined approaches. More 720 WP (Mancozeb + Cymoxanil), combination 19.1% incidence, came next. Agro-laxyl 63.5 (Metalaxyl Mancozeb) Progress 250 EC (Propiconazole 25%) also found better than only applied plot control. Spread of Phytophthora capsici in Black Pepper (Piper nigrum) in Vietnam
Black pepper is the one of most important export products in Vietnam. As the largest exporter, Vietnam’s pepper commodities account for 58% of total worldwide exporters. However, Vietnam’s pepper production is dealing with disease problems, especially foot rot/quick death infected by Phytophthora capsici. The disease results in serious and rapid spread and infection in Vietnam, with yearly redu...
متن کاملBiological role of Piper nigrum L. (Black pepper): A review
Piper nigrum is famous as the spices king due to its pungent quality[1]. Piper nigrum (P.nigrum) L. is a member of family Piperaceae[2-4]. The genus piper has more than 1000 species but the most well known species are P.nigrum, P.longum and P.betle; 51 cultivars of p. nigrum have been reported from the tropical and subtropical regions of India [5]. P.nigrum fruits are also used to produce white...
متن کاملTransfer RNA Derived Small RNAs Targeting Defense Responsive Genes Are Induced during Phytophthora capsici Infection in Black Pepper (Piper nigrum L.)
Small RNAs derived from transfer RNAs were recently assigned as potential gene regulatory candidates for various stress responses in eukaryotes. In this study, we report on the cloning and identification of tRNA derived small RNAs from black pepper plants in response to the infection of the quick wilt pathogen, Phytophthora capsici. 5'tRFs cloned from black pepper were validated as highly expre...
